Gorgeous Coro earrings, circa 1945, tested as both sterling silver and 10-12k gold, meaning that this a vermeil (gold over sterling) piece, which was not unusual for costume jewelry made during WWII when other metals were scarce. Coro advertised a line with the same amethyst rhinestones in a 1944 Corocraft ad bearing the appropriate headline, "Devastating Amethyst." These earrings, though similar to those Corocraaft pieces, are signed "Coro." Photos cannot do these earrings justice. They are beyond stunning. Excellent vintage condition - near mint, as shown in photos. 1.5" x 0.75"
